Look closely at my little treasure... and wonder. See the intricate little drawings on this scratch cross? With so much grace, the young boy who "scratched" out this beautiful Nativity scene presented this work of art and labor of love to me. It is a gift that is filed in my memory under the category of "one of the most special gifts I've ever received."
The boy was among INDIA's poorest and neediest children, when he was found by The Platform Kids. This organization rescues children from a life of begging on the railway platforms of INDIA. They provide them with a loving Christian home and a fine education. Visiting there to try to be a blessing... I was the one who came away the most blessed. The word that comes to mind for this place is "haven" A Peaceful, blessed haven. One of my friends in INDIA will go visit there when she needs a rest... or needs to revive her spirits.
