I love presents...whether giving or receiving them...I just love gifts! Can you tell what my love language is? Here are a few of the most recent happy, gifty things in my life.
Each year on Sunday School promotion day, my husband gives his boys a departing gift..some kind of cool flashlight. We always tag the gift with the scripture from Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven." Dave gives his boys a charge...and a hug...and sends them off into the world of Youth Group. Sounds like something out of Narnia, doesn't it?
Waiting for my daughter's approaching baby shower this past Saturday was hard for me, as I was so excited to present her with this surprise. I commissioned my talented friend Heather to make it.
Here is Rebekah at her lovely shower, unwrapping her special...
...new custom-designed diaper bag! Be sure to visit Heather's site to view the adorable notepad and burp pads that she made to match.
In addition to the Saturday shower held at Christchurch, Rebekah's little church delighted her with another celebration on Sunday afternoon. I was so happy to give her this book (naturally, it is expected that Mom will give a BOOK!)...
...Leading Little Ones to God, the excellent devotional book Dave and I used in family devotions when our children were preschoolers. Dave even picked out a big book of stickers to give with the book, in memory of all the many stickers he awarded for review questions answered. One for your big toe, another on the ear lobe, then one in the middle of the forehead. Ahhh....those were the days. What fun we had.
Gifting. Just the thought gives me a happy surge of adrenalin, spelling L-O-V-E in my book!
