The card reads, "To GRANDMA MESSICK, See you in eight months! Love, Baby D."
When the florist delivered these beautiful flowers to my mom's home in Conroe, I assumed they were for GRANDMA MOWDY. But as the truth started sinking in that this was my kid's way to announce that I was the GRANDMA, or would soon be, I was initially in shock..and then ecstatic!
My daughter Rebekah and Baby Beanie, as her husband Nick refers to the "baby in the oven," are doing fine. Here is the first baby picture of Beanie.
Expected to arrive this July 15-ish, this baby will not only be our first grandchild, but the first baby born to any of my mom's grandchildren, thus making her a GREAT-GRANDMA, which delights her.
I love life's sweet surprises...like the special way my daughter and son-in-law announced the coming baby. I would love to hear stories from readers of how you either received or delivered your own special announcement!
